Κάτι που μου άρεσε στο Amedeo Project είναι το σκεπτικό πίσω από το όλο εγχείρημα. Η φιλοσοφία θυμίζει αρκετά ανοιχτό λογισμικό (opensource) και το Free Software Foundation. Η πορεία του αν μη τι άλλο, πέρα από την ιατρική σημασία ή αξία του, θα έχει και μεγάλο ενδιαφέρον όσο αφορά εκπαιδευτικά, ακαδημαϊκά και κοινωνικό-πολιτικά ζητήματα. Τέτοια project όπως και άλλα που παρουσιάζω ελπίζω να προβληματίσουν περισσότερο “τους παροικούντες στην Ιερουσαλήμ”.
1. Before the end of this decade, medical publishing will undergo a profound transformation. The Internet will provide us with an unprecedented wealth of state-of-the-art medical information. The ready availability of this information will have a tremendous impact on medical practice.
2. If you are a passionate clinician or researcher, you have an extraordinary opportunity to speak directly to your audience. Put your books on the Internet! Some knowledge about the basics of word processing and a student capable of preparing the information for the Internet is sufficient to make your writings visible to the world.
3. Put your writings on the Internet for free. You will have an infinite greater number of readers compared with paperback publications and you will establish a relationship with your readers. The spirit of science is to share information. Be part of it.

Στο πρώτο κάποιος μπορεί να βρει και να κατεβάσει διάφορα ιατρικά εγχειρίδια(textbooks), πάνω από 650, ενώ στο δεύτερο μπορεί να προσπελάσει και να διαβάσει ελεύθερα ιατρικά επιστημονικά περιοδικά(journals).
